Beskrivning

Denna halvdagsutflykt på Brač blir bara bättre och bättre. Du besöker ett olivoljemuseum i Skrip, ser traditionella stenhuggare i arbete i Pucisca och avslutar dagen på Vidova Gora – den högsta punkten på Adriatiska öarna. Lägg till lite dalmatisk vinprovning och du har en fantastisk introduktion till öns historia och kultur. En av våra lokalguider, Luka, säger: ”När resan är slut kommer du att vara en expert på Brač. Du får inte bara prova en rad regionala specialiteter, utan också dyka in i stenhuggarnas värld, som inte många turister har upptäckt ännu.”

Du lämnar Supetar tidigt på morgonen och slingrar dig upp till byn Skrip. Här ligger öns äldsta bosättning, där du besöker ett fascinerande olivoljemuseum för provsmakning tillsammans med lokala ostar, oliver och charkuterier.

Nästa stopp är Pucisca, en vacker kuststad känd för sina vita kalkbrott. Stenen här har använts för att bygga några av världens mest kända landmärken, bland annat Vita huset i Washington DC, Diocletianus palats i Split och parlamentet i Wien. Du stannar till för ett besök och tittar även in på Kroatiens enda stenhuggerskola, följt av en provsmakning av två lokala viner. Turens sista stopp är toppen av Vidova Gora. På 780 meters höjd erbjuder den panoramautsikt över inte bara Brač utan även andra öar, inklusive Hvar, Vis, Korčula och Peljesac-halvön.

Full-day tour of Krka National Park’s waterfalls from Brač

The great outdoors don't come any greater than Krka National Park, one of Croatia's wildest natural treasures. You'll get a chance to breathe in the freshest of airs and explore vegetation-rich and waterfall-splashed landscapes. Tomislav, a local guide, says, “It's a paradise not only for people, but for the 860 species of plants and 240 species of birds and fish that call Krka National Park home.”Krka National Park is a protected place of thundering waterfalls, lakes and riverside walks. After a brief introduction, you'll have the day to stroll along the wooden waterside walkways and admire the scenery. But the park's crowning glory is Skradinski Buk – a huge natural pool with 17 cascading waterfalls bursting through the trees. Tomislav adds, “The fairytale tiers of Skradinski Buk were formed by layers of travertine limestone building up from the mineral springs that feed it.”You'll stop here for a snack at a local restaurant with a view that you'll want to lock away and remember for ever. You've then got all afternoon to explore the park for yourself. You can go wildlife spotting along the trails, as nightingales, herons, falcons and owls are all regulars here. Plus, the water is so see-through-clear here that it's easy to spot fish in the waters of the Krka River. Boat ride through Croatia’s Neretva Delta with lunch

If you're craving a slice of nature and want a change from the throng of Croatia's historic cities, then the Neretva Delta is what you're after. Within an hour and a half of Split, it's a mosaic of waterways, marshes and lagoons that you can peacefully meander along as you switch your holiday to a slower pace for the day.You'll arrive in the morning at Villa Neretva, where you'll board a trupica – a traditional Croatian riverboat – and take to the waterways of the Neretva River. The river's wetlands sprawl across Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a relatively small stretch flowing through Croatia before it pours out into the Adriatic Sea. In this protected conservation area, you'll glide through the clear water, with a good chance of spotting herons, egrets and pygmy cormorants. There are over 300 species of birds here among the other wildlife, so keep an eye out for some more unusual finds, like colourful kingfishers, black and yellow fire salamanders and vibrant Balkan green lizards.Past Lake Kuti, you'll stop for lunch at Neretva House Tavern, which can only be reached by boat, for a feast of traditional Dalmatian dishes. Then, relax as you weave through the green wetlands, on your return to land.

Rafting Cetina River

Amazing landscapes and adrenaline-pumping adventure are the name of the game in this River Cetina rafting excursion. You'll make your way along the Dalmatian coast towards Omis and then climb up the western slopes of the Dinaric Alps to the starting point. The descent ends a few hours later in the lower Cetina gorge.We'll head to Omis – a pretty town at the mouth of a rocky gorge on the River Cetina. From here, we'll drive up into the mountains. On arrival at the launching pad for the descent by raft, you'll be given a quick safety briefing and kitted out with wetsuits, helmets and life vests.Next, you'll take a seat in your raft, ready for a ride through the rugged canyon. Expect fast-moving rapids and calm currents as the raft skims, spins and glides over the foamy water. Your rafting adventure lasts about three hours, before ending at the lower gorge. Here, you can leave your rafts behind and jump into the river for a dip or explore the neighbouring forest.
