Mauritius private south tour with Chamarel Geopark & Grand Bassin

Our whole day out was very good, I would say the visit to the French colonial house wasnt about the house but all about selling us cashmere which we didn't expect!! Loved visiting the Hindu temple and seeing the dormant volcano. The rum distillery was interesting and the gardens were amazing. Chamarel park was nice and again the grounds beautiful. We saw quite abit of wildlife in our day, lunch was a lovely 3course and our driver was fantastic!!

Our driver/ guide, Sanjeev Bundhoo, was excellent through the day with great knowledge of places and history of the Island. He looked after us brilliantly and the day was seamless. All the places we visited were interesting but the highlights were the Hindu Temple and the Rum Tour. The lunch provided was very good. The only disappointment was the lack of interest from the Tui rep at the hotel beforehand but he seemed to have little interest in anything to be fair.

Our south island tour started when we met our guide for the day, Tridev. He was such a knowledgeable guy and we had great fun with him, we even invited him to join us for lunch where we shared pictures of our family members. He showed us some amazing sights, the highlight being the Hindu temple, of which he was very proud. Finishing off with a rum tasting like no other!! Great day, and would recommend it to anyone, make sure you ask for Tridev. A true ambassador for the company.

First couple of stops were a little underwhelming with little contribution from the guide. This led to us not being told where the model boat making was. We enjoyed the nature reserve, the waterfall and the seven coloured geopark. Meal was nice and rum tasting was good apart from it being very difficult to hear the guide as the French speaking guide in the next group was very loud and right next to us.

A good number of attractions, each on their own not always much to see/do, but as part of an itinerary, worked well. Good range and pace.
