This gastronomic tour is designed to make you enjoy the authentic flavors of Florence in every bite, enriching it with stories and anecdotes and taking you only to the best places where locals usually go. The journey includes traditional specialties, excellent wines and new flavors offered by wineries and small restaurants.
The food walking tour will start in one of the most famous wine shops in the Santa Croce neighborhood. Your food ambassador will tell you about the varieties of Tuscan wine and the story of the producers of the wine you will taste, before moving towards the Sant’Ambrogio district.
This neighborhood is truly loved by locals and is the culinary and cultural heart of the city. You will visit a local bakery and taste some Tuscan bread, known as "pane sciocco" (a particular kind of bread without salt) and during the lunch food tour only, you will also visit the market of Sant’Ambrogio where local producers sell their products.
One of the next stops along the way will be a family-run restaurant, where you will feel the Italian hospitality and taste two samples of homemade pasta with two different sauces paired with some great wines. During the tour, you will also have the possibility to sample local cold cuts and cheeses, crostini and the famous "lampredotto". The tour will end with a taste of artisanal ice cream in one of the most renowned "gelaterie" of Florence.
