Beskrivelse

Da Timanfayas seks lange år med utbrudd opphørte i 1736, trodde bøndene i La Geria at den fruktbare jorden deres var tapt for alltid under et tykt askelag. Men de lokale familiene var nødt til å gjøre jorden produktiv igjen, og ved hjelp av hardt arbeid og besluttsomhet klarte de å skape vingårdene i La Geria.

Vi starter med en naturskjønn spasertur, og følger stier gjennom private vingårder som tilhører den familieeide bodegaen Nacho Romero, som er åpnet eksklusivt for National Geographics gjester.

Mens du suger til deg den unike karakteren til dette landskapet der vingårdene er omgitt av vulkaner, forklarer eieren hvordan laget av vulkansk aske, lokalt kjent som "picón", har formet dyrkingsmetodene deres, som er unike i verden. Hvis du er så heldig at druene er modne, kan du til og med få plukke druer rett fra vinstokken mens du hører Nacho eller konen hans, Luisa, begge vinmakere, fortelle om de unike egenskapene til vulkansk vin. Når du er tilbake på bodegaen hans etter vandringen, kan du smake på en av de håndverksmessig fremstilte vinene som Nacho og Luisa lager hjemme på vingården.

Deretter går turen til Bodega La Geria – en annen viktig del av den økologiske vinproduksjonen. Vinmakeren selv viser deg rundt på bodegaen. Her får du vite hemmelighetene bak hulene, de såkalte "zocos", som beskytter vinrankene mot vinden, og du får se de ulike druesortene som trives i Lanzarotes vulkanske terroir. Avslutningsvis kan du smake på en av gårdens berømte viner med lokal ost og kjeks.

Enjoyed the trip, information was very informative. Wine tasting was excellent May was very good at answering our questions and informing us about the different wines, added a little extra with a taste of the smoked goats cheese beautiful.

Die Tour war echt gut. Aber warum wurden wir nicht an unserem Hotel abgeholt. Wir waren die einzigen Gäste aus Playa Blanca. Und mussten zu Fuß eine viertel Stunde zu einem anderen Hotel gehen. Die Guide war wirklich gut ?? präpariert und das Programm war wirklich exzellent.

Super Tour. Aber für die Leistung dann doch sehr teuer. Am Ende ist es nur ein Spaziergang und 4 Gläser Wein dazu. Nachgeschenkt wird hat nicht und es soll schon etwas verkauft werden. Etwas schade. Die guides waren aber sehr gut
