Beskrivning

Teneriffa är en blandning av vykortsvackra byar, högoktaniga utsiktsplatser och utomjordiska landskap. Men ingenstans är det så vackert som i Teide nationalpark. På den här heldagsturen tar du dig uppför vulkanen Teides sluttningar, där du kan välja att åka linbana upp till toppen. Juana, en av våra lokalguider, säger: "Nationalparken Teide och det omgivande naturreservatet Corona Forestal utgör tillsammans en tredjedel av Teneriffas landmassa - det är obeskrivligt hur mycket vulkanen dominerar vår ö."

Dramatiska vulkaniska landskap väntar när du beger dig in i Teide nationalpark för att se själva höjdpunkten - det 3 700 meter höga berget Teide. Under färden uppför berget passerar du fyra olika klimatzoner, vilket skapar ett ständigt föränderligt kalejdoskop av terräng, flora och fauna. Och på grund av sin geologiska betydelse är parken upptagen på UNESCO:s världsarvslista. Juana säger: "Parken har en mängd olika landskap som fångar kameran. Här finns den brända jorden i lavafälten, de taggiga klippformationerna i Roques de Garcia, de Mars-liknande badlands runt Montaña Rajada och tallskogarna i Corona Forestal.

Som tillval kan du åka linbana upp till strax under vulkanens topp. Från denna höjd kan du, om vädret tillåter, njuta av en hisnande utsikt över Teneriffa och resten av den kanariska ögruppen som sticker upp ur Atlanten. Eller så får du se det berömda "molnhavet" som ofta svävar nedanför toppen.
