Att göra – Galeries Lafayette Haussmann
1893 öppnade Théophile Bader och Alphonse Kahn en 70 kvadratmeter stor butik i hörnet av rue La Fayette och rue de la Chaussée d'Antin. Den blygsamma butiken var så stor framgång att de köpte hela byggnaden 1896. På byggnadens fasad visar flera stilarter de successiva utvidgningarna av butiken: Haussmann, Art Nouveau, Art Deco och apoteksandan på 1960-talet. I centrum för denna unika kulturarv är den neo-bysantinska kupolen.
Idag är Galeries Lafayette inte bara ett ikoniskt monument i huvudstaden med ett världsomspännande rykte utan en butik på 70 000 kvadratmeter som välkomnar mer än 100 000 besökare per dag.
