Vill du få en perfekt solbränna samtidigt som du provar något nytt? I så fall är en utflykt till ett hamam eller turkiskt bad definitivt något för dig.

Hamam har funnits i Turkiet sedan antiken och ger ortsborna möjlighet att fräscha upp sig och koppla av, samtidigt som de tar del av det senaste skvallret. Dessutom kommer din hud att exfolieras, vilket gör det lättare att skaffa sig en varaktig solbränna. Allt börjar när vi tar dig till ett mycket bra lokalt hamam. Du kommer att få byta om till badkläder i en hytt och vira in dig i en handduk. Sen är det dags att gå in i det fuktiga, marmorkaklade rummet med en ”gobektasi”, eller uppvärmd stenhäll, i mitten. Koppla av medan värmen gör din hud mjuk, öppnar upp porerna och får dig att svettas ut alla toxiner.

Därefter får du lägga dig på stenhällen, där du behandlas med en kroppsskrubb följt av en helkroppsmassage med mjuka, tvåliga bubblor. Slutligen väntar en oljemassage som får dig att fullkomligt lysa och känna dig mer avslappnad än någonsin. Ett utmärkt sätt att inleda din semester.

Topping a headland jutting into the Mediterranean, it was built in the 13th century on the remnants of Roman and Byzantine castles. You'll glide up in a cable car and to check out its watchtower-studded battlements and peer through the holes from where hot oil was poured onto enemies when they were trying to invade the area.Then, you'll continue on to a craft shop where gourds are carefully carved into lamps, with great results. After lunch, the afternoon is yours. Go shopping in Alanya bazaar, relax in a café, or go for a stroll on the gulet-crammed harbour or promenade before it's time to head back to your accommodation.

Private boat tour to Kekova’s sunken city and Myra ruins

Authentic cuisine, a lost city and Santa – this trip offers an eclectic mix of attractions. You'll glide along the coast to Kekova island and its sunken town, then visit the church of St Nicholas and the ancient city of Myra. But if the weather doesn't permit a boat trip, there's a visit to the fascinating Demre museum instead.After a tasty lunch of typical dishes freshly prepared in a local restaurant, it's time to visit the Church of St Nicholas, who's better known today as Santa Claus.
