The village of Cilipi, just south of Dubrovnik, sets the scene for this half-day tour. You'll be immersed in Croatian folklore and traditions with Sunday mass at St Nicholas Church, a show and market where you can browse all kinds of handicrafts.
You'll be welcomed right into the heart of the village of Cilipi with a drink and snack – grape brandy and figs – before you hear the bells call for mass. And in the church square, you'll find the Sunday market filled with stalls selling silk embroidery, handicrafts and souvenirs. Watch the locals, all dressed in their finest, head into mass and enjoy the typical village scene unfold.
After the service, a celebration takes place as locals dressed in typical clothing – white shirts, red belts embroidered with gold silk and bright red shoes - take to the square to perform songs and dances from the region. You'll have a chance to browse the market stalls while listening to the rhythms of Dalmatian music. A fascinating glimpse into village life.
