Beskrivning

Temaparken Xcaret är ett unikt inslag på Mayarivieran i Mexico. Och med denna kvällsbiljett får du bonusen att kunna se showen Xcaret México Espectacular. Men före det kan du även simma i de underjordiska floderna, se hästuppvisningen och vandra runt i djungeln, innan du slår dig ner och underhållningen börjar.

Xcaret ligger vid havet nära Playa del Carmen och kan skryta med över 50 attraktioner, som tar dig till djungelns hjärta på många olika sätt. Du har några timmar på dig för att till exempel se fjärilspaviljongen och korallrevsakvariet, eller vandra genom grottor, arkeologiska utställningar och mayabyn. Du kan även kasta dig i vattnet i en underjordisk flod eller vandra ut på djungelstigen.

När kvällen kommer väntar Xcaret México Espectacular, en ljud- och ljusshow som tar dig med genom landets historia. Över 300 artister är med på scenen i teatern Gran Tlacho för att visa danser och kultur från olika regioner i Mexico.

Biljetten gäller från kl 16 och showen börjar 18.30. Fri entré för barn som ännu inte fyllt fem år. Halva priset för barn 5–11 år. I båda fallen krävs id-handling (pass) för att kunna styrka barnens ålder. Även barn som är under 12 år men längre än 137 cm måste kunna styrka sin ålder med pass. Ta med badkläder, handduk och bra solskydd. Transport till och från Xcaret ingår inte, endast entrébiljetten.

Get a close-up look at Maya history and traditions on this off-the-beaten-track tour. You'll visit the ancient Maya city of Ek' Balam – the most recent to be opened to the public – as well as Yalcoba to swim in the cenote and a stop in Valladolid. Francesca, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Archaeologists only began uncovering Ek' Balam in 1985, and they're still digging away today. It's a more complete site than many others, and you can still imagine daily life in the Maya town going on around you as you explore. But the main reason I enjoy Ek' Balam is that there are so few visitors.'We'll start the adventure with a guided visit of Ek' Balam, which translates as ‘Black Jaguar.' The site has more than 40 structures and its walls formed a maze, while the main pyramid, known as the Acropolis, has a well-preserved entrance surrounded by the open jaws and fangs of a jaguar. It's bigger than even El Castillo at Chichen Itzá. Best of all, you can climb to the top – which few Maya sites allow.Afterwards, we'll head to Yalcoba where you can try your hand at chocolate-making and learn how to craft obsidian at a workshop. After a tequila and mezcal tasting you'll have time to enjoy the crystalline cenote, then tuck into a tasty buffet lunch of typical regional dishes. Lastly, we'll have a quick stop in central Valladolid, a city known for its art and architecture and a picture-perfect medley of colourful colonial buildings and historic churches.

Sian Ka’an Reserve Tour with Boat Trip

The ancient Maya called it ‘Where the Sky Begins' – and there's definitely a touch of heaven to Sian Ka'an. Its mangroves, coral reefs, wildlife and archaeological sites mean that it's both a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Biosphere Reserve, a rare double that puts it in the Champions League of natural parks. Manon, one of our expert local guides, says, “I first came to Sian Ka'an as a visitor on holidays from Normandy and totally fell in love with it – now I work in this paradise. I come here every day and have never lived the same experience twice.” The adventure begins the moment you step onto the boat to explore the dense mangroves. As you navigate through the reserve, you'll be surrounded by flora and fauna – over 300 species call this place home, including birds, crocodiles and dolphins. As the boat drifts along, your guide will point out unique plant species that thrive in this wetland ecosystem, explaining their vital roles in maintaining the ecological balance. Then, you'll head out into the Caribbean Sea to snorkel in one of the best-preserved reefs in the area. You'll also drop the anchor at a shallow stretch of sand with low tides and crystal-clear waters, known locally as La Piscina. Then, the afternoon is all about unwinding. You'll head to Punta Allen, a small Mayan fishing village, where you can savour some local dishes, before having some time to sit back and relax.
