Utforska det mesoamerikanska revsystemets underverk på denna unika National Geographic Day Tour. Under ledning av marinspecialister får du den unika möjligheten att snorkla och bevittna mänsklighetens påverkan på revet och se korallblekning. Detta följs av ett insiktsfullt samtal om handlingsbara steg för återställande av rev.
När vattnet är som lugnast ger vi oss iväg till två olika rev, som alla drabbats av blekning på grund av global uppvärmning, vattenföroreningar och mikroplaster. Besök revet som kallas "El Meco", som har de yngsta korallerna, vilket gör det till en särskilt speciell attraktion.
Båtarna som används för turen är certifierade av Blue Flag för hållbar turism, vilket säkerställer att din resa är i linje med miljömedvetna metoder. Längs vägen får du också lära känna den lokala faunan och smaka på traditionella tilltugg som Kibi.
Under resan kommer du att inspireras till att skydda dessa marina ekosystem, vilket är syftet med det National Geographic-sponsrade projektet Pristine Seas. Projektet har genomfört expeditioner till Banco Chinchorro, en viktig del av det mesoamerikanska revsystemet. Projektets arbete understryker vikten av att skydda marina miljöer från mänsklig påverkan och samtidigt skydda de sista vilda platserna i våra hav.
