The Fundació is located in a building designed by Josep Lluís Sert, making it one of the few museums in the world in which the complicity between artist and architect underpins the dialogue between the works and the space that houses them. The Fundació offers an overview of the landscapes of Joan Miró’s art and life, creating an enriching dialogue with other artists from the 20th and 21st centuries.
A series of overarching themes illustrate key concepts in Miró’s work and in the thinking of his times, while reflecting the artist’s desire to transcend conventional painting. Permanent and temporary exhibitions are included in the price to enjoy the experience to the fullest. The actual temporary exhibitions are: Imaginary Friends until 1st July and Il était une petite pie until 29th October.
The collection of paintings, drawings, sculptures, and works on paper displayed at the Fundació is one of the most comprehensive selections of Miró’s oeuvre, offering a thorough overview of all the stages of his life and career.
