Ting å gjøre i Katedralen i Siena
Katedralen i Siena, også kjent som Duomo di Siena, er en romersk-katolsk kirke fra middelalderen og ble først bygget mellom 1215 og 1263 oppå en tidligere eksisterende struktur. Den er en vakker og imponerende bygning, med yttervegger i hvit og grønnsvart marmor (og et tillegg med rød marmor i fasaden). Innsiden er laget i et lignende materiale, og kirkens utforming ser ut som et latinsk kors med kuppel med et nesten 8 m høyt kirketårn som ble fullført i 1313.
Duomo di Siena er et av prakteksemplene på italiensk romersk-gotisk arkitektur i en katedral, og det sies av dirigenten Richard Wagner, da han så katedralen i Siena for første gang, ble rørt til tårer.
